The Puigpunyent skate park project arises as a response to an urban and social need: to provide the town with a facility for leisure and physical activity for young people, especially after the COVID-19 lockdown, with safe, open-air spaces that encourage community interaction. This commission from the City Council becomes an opportunity to shape a project that connects functionality, territory, and identity.

The site is located near the municipal sports facilities. Although it does not yet have adequate access from public space, it is adjacent to the area used by the public nursery and primary school of Puigpunyent, allowing the skate park to be used by children during recess, integrating the facility into the community and educational fabric.
The elevated areas are coated with an earth-toned pigment that blends with the surrounding colors; the flat areas retain the original gray concrete, establishing a functional and perceptual contrast that clearly defines the two zones.

The profile of Mount Galatzó, which gives the town its name (Puigpunyent, “pointed mountain”), is incorporated as a formal modulator and visual reference in one part of the design, generating identity and a strong connection to the place.
The project takes advantage of the tree-covered areas of the elevated topography to create natural shade and resting spaces, integrating environmental comfort and spatial quality. The sequence of volumes, materials, and colors creates a unique sports facility integrated into the landscape.
